We’re excited to announce the launch of creative contemporary dance classes for children & young people in Canada Water, London!
Helen Cox is a dance artist, choreographer and entrepreneur, as well as a dancer/teacher for Traceworks Dance. Helen began 'Children’s Contemporary Dance' 5 years ago after noticing a need for a place where young people can be free to explore movement, to express themselves and to be guided to develop a creative voice. Over the past 5 years, the programme has grown and built a community of local families. As Helen will be moving back to Canada in the Summer of 2020, she has made the careful decision to hand the school over to Traceworks Dance.
Helen chose Traceworks because of our quality of teaching, dedication and commitment to the South East London dance community and the exciting opportunities we can offer to the children and young people with B40 Youth Dance Company and also the Traceworks professional company and our vision for further development.
From September 2019, we will be continuing to provide the existing programme of weekly classes that Helen has established for Ages 4-12, as well as introducing a brand new class for Teens (13+). The classes are based at the modern Canada Water Studios in South East London, less than a 2 minute walk from Canada Water Station (Jubilee Line/Overground/Buses).
In the Autumn term, Helen will continue to lead the majority of classes with professional dancers from Traceworks also beginning to deliver the programme.
