Sunday 10 March 11:00-18:00
Our partners at Academy Performing Arts (Royal Arsenal London) are teaming up with Greenwich Dance to offer an exciting day of dance designed to empower and inspire young women aged 13-19 years living in the London borough of Greenwich.
With our national obsession with reality TV and celebrity culture showing no sign of abating, this project sets out to explore issues of body image, identity and self-confidence for young women in 2019.
Hosted by Ali Steele, director of Academy Performing Arts and delivered by Colleen Joseph from Greenwich Dance, this fun and creative day will bring young women together to talk about the issues facing young women of today. The day will progress into dance-based activities to help young women appreciate their own bodies and its capabilities and learn to respect each other and themselves: discovering through dance how to find inner strength and balance this with outer strength in order to find a ‘me’ they are happy with being.
